Sleeping (bag) Beauty

Updated: Aug 7, 2023

Staying warm is crucial to a good night sleep and a quality sleeping bag is a good place to start! I did so much research when it came to which sleeping bag. Growing up my dad was always about quality products, and that has been instilled in me. I made sure all my boxes were checked before I checked out. A couple of things that I made sure my sleeping bag had was: quality, warmth, and was packable! The sleeping bag that fit all those things was the Sea to Summit Journey Women's Down Sleeping Bag.

This one has not let me down in the three years that I've had it. This brand has amazing following and reviews so I knew that I was getting something quality. A cool thing about this sleeping bag is that if you have second one than you can zip them together and create one big cozy sleeping bag. It has a little built in pillow so that was another thing I wouldn't have to purchase.

There were two options for temperature, 18 degrees or 30 degrees. Being that I have camped in below 32 degree weather I opted for the warmer option (18 degrees). It's always better to be warmer than colder. It's made with real down so the warmth is out of control. My camping colors are orange and blue so the light blue totally fit my vibe, too.

While a $300 sleeping bag isn't exactly the most affordable, tax return season saved my butt. This sleeping bag will last me a long time and I will be using so much that in my mind it's so worth every penny. I like to get anything that's easy to pack or even compatible so the fact that the sleeping bag can squeeze down to the size of a basketball is pretty neat.

Definitely do your own research to see what sleeping bag fits your needs and your specifications. Each bag is different too! Mine is awesome and the best for me, but that doesn't mean it's the best fit for everyone. Figure out what activities you'll be doing with it. How cold will it be where you're camping? Does it matter what size it is? What's in your budget? Before my sleeping bag I was using loads of blankets, don't let not having a sleeping bag stop you from doing whatever you love!
