Colorful fall hikes around Reno & Tahoe

Being surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscape makes the fall season even better! I wanted to share some of the hikes that I've been on so you can experience the changing colors as well. This year (2023) the colors started to change around late September but it hasn't gone full blast quite yet so get your shoes and choose a hike here or find one around. At the end of the article there are the All Trails link to them for more specific details.

  1. Spooner Lake (North East Tahoe)

  2. Galena Creek Falls (Mt Rose Highway - HWY 431)

  3. Galena Creek Recreation Area (Base of Mt Rose Highway HWY 431)

  4. Upper Thomas Creek Trailhead (Base of Mt Rose Highway - HWY 431)

  5. Hunter Creek (Reno)

  6. Ballardini Ranch Trailhead (Reno)

  7. Evans Creek Trailhead (Reno)

Reno / Tahoe

An extra one that's easy and has no incline is the River Walk in downtown Reno. There are many colors and flowers to observe as well as many adorable dogs! Thanks for checking in this fall! What's your favorite fall activity?
